Southern Baked Beans

INGREDIENTS

3 large cans pork and beans (28 oz)
8 slices of bacon, halved
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 green pepper, diced
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup your favorite barbecue sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
2 Tbs Dijon mustard

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Partially cook the bacon in a large skillet. When done, remove bacon, add diced onion, and green pepper into skillet with drippings, and cook about 5 minutes. Add in beans, and all other remaining ingredients, except bacon. Pour into a 9×13 baking dish, then top with bacon slices. Bake for approx. 2 hrs, or until desired consistency. Every country cook needs a great recipe for baked beans and these are WONDERFUL!
